Plagiarism Policy - Seascapeid Journal of Law and Public Policy
Plagiarism, in any form, is a serious violation of academic and publishing integrity. The Seascapeid Journal of Law and Public Policy is committed to maintaining high ethical standards and expects all authors to adhere to strict anti-plagiarism guidelines.
Defining Plagiarism: Plagiarism is the act of presenting someone else's ideas, words, or intellectual property as one's own without proper attribution. This includes, but is not limited to, copying and pasting text, paraphrasing without citation, and submitting someone else's work.
Policy Highlights:
-
Originality Requirement: Authors are required to submit original work that has not been published elsewhere. Any use of previously published material must be properly cited and attributed.
-
Proper Citation: All sources, including text, figures, tables, and ideas, must be appropriately cited. Failure to provide proper attribution is considered plagiarism.
-
Self-Plagiarism: Authors must avoid self-plagiarism by refraining from submitting the same work to multiple journals without proper acknowledgment and disclosure.
-
Plagiarism Checking: Manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo plagiarism checks using reliable tools. Authors are encouraged to perform self-checks before submission.
-
Consequences of Plagiarism: If plagiarism is detected, the manuscript may be rejected or retracted. The author(s) may be barred from submitting to the journal in the future.
-
Reporting Suspected Plagiarism: Readers, reviewers, and fellow authors are encouraged to report suspected cases of plagiarism to the editorial team for investigation.
Preventing Plagiarism: Authors can avoid unintentional plagiarism by:
- Clearly attributing all sources and ideas in their work.
- Using quotation marks and proper citation for verbatim text.
- Being aware of self-plagiarism and disclosing any overlap with previous publications.
The Seascapeid Journal of Law and Public Policy is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of academic integrity. Authors are expected to familiarize themselves with these guidelines and strictly adhere to them throughout the publication process.
